Tauber Exploration & Production Co., formerly known as Arthur-Smith Corporation (a former subsidiary of Tauber Oil Company) started by O. J. Tauber, Sr., is a privately owned Texas corporation located in Houston, Texas. Due to the reorganization of Tauber Oil Company, Tauber Exploration & Production Co. became its own entity in 1984. Active in the petroleum exploration and production business since the early 1970’s, Tauber has enjoyed the success of developing oil and gas properties in the areas of East Texas, South Texas, the Gulf Coast of Texas, Southern Louisiana, and Oklahoma.

Richard Tauber serves as President of Tauber Exploration & Production Co.
He graduated from Texas Christian University in 1979 receiving a Bachelors Degree in Marketing & Finance. Upon graduation, Richard joined Norwood Chemical Company as a marketer in the chemicals division. In 1980, he joined Tauber Oil Company, a family owned petrochemical and refined products trading company.
In 1997, along with his duties as Vice President of Tauber Oil Company, Richard became President of Tauber Exploration & Production Co. Following the retirement of his brother, O. J. Tauber, Jr. in 1998, Richard also became President of Tauber Oil Company.
Mr. Sassin is a 1976 graduate of Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State), with a BBA in Accounting. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant Certificate in 1984. Mr. Sassin has worked for The Tauber Companies since 1979. He is currently the Chief Financial Officer for Tauber Oil Company and Tauber Exploration & Production Co.
