As one of two Principals of The Tauber Companies, David actively directs the Carbon Black Feedstocks Division for all domestic and international market development. Additionally, he oversees the day-to-day operations of Tauber, including trading, banking, accounting, administration, and risk management.
David is a member of the Board of Trustees of Star of Hope, Carolina College of Biblical Studies and First Liberty Institute. He serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the College of Biblical Studies, the largest minority biblical college in the U.S. located in Houston, Texas. He also actively serves at Second Baptist Church of Houston as a Deacon and as Chairman of the Finance Committee.
David graduated from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. After graduation, he immediately joined Tauber Oil Company, then under the direction of O.J. Tauber, Sr.
As one of two Principals of The Tauber Companies, Richard Tauber actively oversees the day-to-day operations of the companies, including trading, banking, accounting, administration, and risk management.
He is also President of Tauber Exploration & Production Co., a family owned and operated business active in ranching, real estate, stocks, and oil & gas.
Richard graduated from Texas Christian University in May, 1979, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing/Finance. Immediately after graduation from TCU, he joined Norwood Chemical Company as a marketer in their chemicals division, subsequently joining Tauber Oil Company in March, 1980.
Currently, Richard serves on the Board of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and was the President of the Petroleum Club of Houston for the 2013/2014 term.
Lory T. Whitley joined Tauber Oil Company in September 1999 as a Transportation Manager for Tauber Petrochemical Co. She spent 6 years gaining valuable knowledge of the petrochemical industry and focusing on transportation methods; namely trucking, railcars, and inventory management. In 2005 Lory moved to the Residual Fuels business unit, gaining knowledge of the Carbon Black and Residual Fuel industries. She is responsible for developing the transportation safety department for Tauber Oil Company. In 2011, Lory took advantage of opportunities at GATX Rail and GeoMetrix, leasing tank and freight cars and selling railcar tracking software, respectively. She then returned to Tauber Oil Company in 2014 as a Manager of Business Development, then, promoted to Vice President of Tauber Oil Company in January 2015.
Lory is a Board Director for the Southwest Association of Rail Shippers (SWARS), a member of the Houston Transportation Professionals Association (HTPA), and a volunteer at Texas Children’s Hospital with His Grace Foundation.
Lory graduated from the University of Arizona in 1998 with a degree in Agriculture and Resource Economics and Public Policy.
Jonathan Tauber joined Tauber Oil Company in May 2009, and currently serves as Vice President of Business Development. His primary focus is the acquisition of assets strategic to Tauber Oil Company’s businesses. He has also been active in the natural gas business unit as a scheduler and gas marketer.
Prior to his tenure at Tauber Oil Company, Jonathan worked as a land manager for Crew Land Research in Fort Worth, TX, leasing acreage for Chesapeake Energy.
Jonathan holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wake Forest University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Jones School of Business at Rice University.

David Tauber, Jr. joined Tauber Oil Company in July 2010 as Operations Manager for the Petrochemicals business unit, later moving into the Marine Gasoil and Canadian Crude business units where he was responsible for the day-to-day marketing of those business units, as well as the operations and scheduling of Marine Gas Oil. Currently David serves as Vice President for the Carbon Black Feedstocks business unit. David is primarily responsible for day-to-day marketing.
David graduated from Texas Christian University in 2008.
Clayton Tauber joined The Tauber Companies in November 2013 as Operations Representative for TransOil Marketing, LLC in Abilene, Texas.
He transferred to Houston in November 2015 to manage methanol & xylene logistics and inventory for Tauber Petrochemical Co. Clayton is also part of the Business Development group within The Tauber Companies.
Clayton graduated from Texas A&M in 2012.
Jeff Bryant joined Tauber Oil Company in December 2006 as Operations Manager in the Carbon Black Feedstocks business unit. His responsibilities include carbon black oil operations management in the United States, including export blending and related operations.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Jeff’s past industry experience includes 13+ years of inspection and testing.
Bobby joined Tauber Oil Company in July, 2007 as Vice President of Carbon Black Feedstocks, Supply and Marketing, focusing on domestic and export customers.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Bobby held positions at Degussa Engineered Carbons as VP of Purchasing, focused on Carbon Black Feedstocks and risk management, and worked as a CPA with Price Waterhouse, specializing in the petroleum industry.
Bobby is a graduate of Louisiana State University, and holds a Masters of Business Administration from Tulane University. He is an avid golfer, and has been a dedicated supporter of youth sports in the Sugar Land, TX area.
Jan Hicks joined Tauber Oil Company in October 2003 as Operations Manager in the Residual Fuels and Blending Components business units, and was later promoted to Vice President – Transportation & Marketing, adding the Carbon Black Feedstock’s business unit to her realm of responsibilities.
She is responsible for vessel chartering/operations for international trade, and barge chartering/operations for inland domestic trade. Her years of experience in the industry also include agency management/operations, ship owners’ chartering & operations, and refinery scheduling.
Kavan Mehta joined Tauber Oil Company in February 2003. As Vice President of the Carbon Black Feedstocks business unit, Kavan is primarily responsible for International Sales. Over the last several years, Kavan has developed an extensive understanding of customer requirements and has built a strong relationship with all major Carbon Black producers around the globe. Additionally, Kavan actively participates in operations and risk management of the department.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Kavan was a Management Consultant for Ernst and Young, LLP, and Price Waterhouse Coopers, LLP.
Kavan holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Houston, and a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai, India. He is fluent in Hindi and has a keen appreciation of the game of Cricket.
Bill Struebing joined Tauber Oil Company in January, 2017 as Vice President – Chemical Feeds, bringing 30 years of experience in the refining and petrochemical industries to Tauber. His primary focus is the marketing of Cumene, Pyrolysis Gas and Reformate.
Prior to joining Tauber, Bill’s previous experience includes 14 years at CITGO Petroleum Corporation where he managed marketing and supply for Benzene, Toluene, Xylene, and extraction feedstocks. Prior to CITGO, he was with Koch Industries for 16 years holding various engineering and refinery management positions in their Refining and Chemical business units in Corpus Christi, TX; then, moving to Houston to manage Koch’s commercial sales of Cumene and Ortho Xylene.
Bill received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 1985.
Dave Swayne joined Tauber Oil Company in May 2001 as Operations Manager in the Blending Components business unit.
Dave currently manages our Heavy Fuel and Crude Oil Rail Fleets along with Railcar Operations at the Hodge, LA facility.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Dave’s past experience includes 20 years in the Petroleum Inspection and Testing Industry. Dave started in Horizontal and Vertical Land Tank calibration, and from there he transferred into Petroleum Cargo Inspection and eventually moved into Management for Heavy Fuels Inspection and Testing.
Jason Booth joined Tauber Oil Company in June 2017 as Vice President of Crude Oil Marketing, focusing on the purchasing, gathering, transportation, trading and distribution of crude oil and condensate in the Midcontinent and Gulf Coast regions. With over 28 years of experience, Jason brings extensive experience in building crude oil businesses. Jason understands the needs of producers, transporters and refiners while managing risks and optimizing value for all parties.
Prior to joining Tauber, Jason co-founded 4J Energy and held various senior level positions of increasing levels of responsibility with Sunoco Logistics, EDF Trading, Morgan Stanley, Barclays Capital and Texon LP. At Barclays, Jason managed physical trading of 4 million barrels of tankage at Cushing and 1.5 million barrels on the Gulf Coast. At Texon, Jason managed the marketing of all crude oil business (~50,000 barrels per day). Jason started his career with Plains All American where he spent 13 years in various accounting and scheduling roles.
Jason attended Texas Tech University and University Houston where he received his MS in Accountancy and Master of Business Administration in Finance. Jason is also a licensed CPA.

Ashley Shavell joined Tauber Oil Company in May, 2018 as Operations Manager of Crude Oil Marketing.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Ashley’s previous experience included various roles from Accounting, Operations
and Contract Management.
Ashley graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida Gulf Coast University, Ft. Myers, FL with a degree in Political Science.

Tommy Chernosky joined Tauber Oil Company in September 2018, and currently serves as Vice President of Project Development and Engineering. His primary focus is the acquisition and construction of physical oil and gas assets strategic to Tauber Oil Company’s businesses.
Prior to his tenure at Tauber Oil Company, Tommy worked at Plains All American for four years as a project manager in the capital projects group where he managed over $250MM in midstream crude oil projects. Previous to Plains, Tommy worked at Enbridge Energy for four years as a process engineer at the company’s Barnet Shale gas plants and the project manager for the company’s condensate stabilizer in Venice, LA.
Tommy graduated from Texas Christian University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

Lindsey Serna joined Tauber Oil Company in December 2007 as a Contract Administrator for the Residual Fuels and Blending Components business units and was promoted in 2018 to the Operations Group for the Crude Marketing Group. As Operations Manager, Lindsey is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of internal and external information and records as well as nominations and scheduling of crude oil movements for Rocky Mountain and Canadian Heavy. Prior to working for Tauber, Lindsey worked for the Culinary Institute Lenotre of Houston.

Jacqueline “Jackie” Martinez joined Tauber Oil Company in November, 2016 as Vice President – Crude Oil Marketing, managing our new Denver, CO office. The primary focus of this business unit is to provide a suite of services to the Rocky Mountain Area producer and refining sectors to include marketing, transportation, logistics, and midstream.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Jackie was Senior Vice President of Business Development at 3 Bear Energy, LLC, where she was responsible for midstream project development. In addition, Jackie was the Vice President of Crude Oil Marketing and Transportation at Concord Energy, LLC, where she built a successful crude oil marketing, logistics, transportation, and midstream business unit from concept to full operations. Ms. Martinez also founded and served as Vice President of Crude Oil Marketing and Transportation at Enserco Energy, Inc. (now Twin Eagle Resource Management). She also held various marketing and management positions at Nexen Marketing USA and EOTT Energy Corp.
Ms. Martinez graduated from the University of Denver with a BSBA degree in Finance.

Earl Thomas joined Tauber Oil Company in 2008 as Vice President of the Natural Gas and Emissions business units. In 2012, Tauber acquired Interconn Resources, Inc. and split off the Natural Gas business unit to operate as Interconn. Earl currently serves as its VP of Sales and Asset Optimization.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company and Interconn Resources, Earl’s 25+ years of previous industry experience includes natural gas marketing and asset acquisition and management positions with EIG, MultiFuels, Perry Gas, and United Texas Transmission.
Earl received his Finance Degree from the University of Virginia in 1977, as well as his MBA from William & Mary in 1979.

Brad Kerby joined Tauber Oil Company in April 2006 as Vice President of the Natural Gas Liquids business unit.
Prior to his tenure at Tauber, Brad’s industry experience included TEPPCO Partners, Duke Energy NGL Services, EOTT Energy, and Vanguard Petroleum.
Brad received his MBA in Finance from the University of Houston, and a BS in Operations Management from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
Carolyn Sheffield joined Tauber Oil Company in May 2005, and is the Operations Manager for the Natural Gas Liquids business unit, handling all NGL distribution, scheduling pipeline movements, truck, rail, and barge movements, organizing and maintaining positions and inventories associated with the NGL group.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Carolyn’s previous industry experience included tank & barge calibration, third party inspections and export Inspections.
Carolyn received her BA in Communications from Southeastern Louisiana University – Hammond, LA
Chad Verhoff joined Tauber Oil Company in September 2007 as Vice President of the Natural Gas Liquids business unit.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Chad held positions with Marathon Petroleum and Enterprise Products.
Chad holds an MBA from Bowling Green State University and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ohio State University.
Blake Hale joined Tauber Oil Company in March 2014 to manage Pipeline Operations for the Refined Products business unit. His current focus is now trading, marketing, and domestic supply of gasoline and distillates.
Prior to joining the Tauber team, Blake spent five years in the industry as a Financial Analyst, and then in Risk Management at ENI Trading & Shipping, Inc.
Blake graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in Finance.
Brian Clayton joined Tauber Oil Company in January 2016 to handle all of the domestic operations for the Refined Products business unit.
Prior to joining the Tauber team, Brian spent five years in the trading industry as a Trading Assistant, and then as Risk Management for multiple global trading organizations.
Brian received his BBA in Finance and Economics from Texas Tech University.
Rachel Clary joined Tauber Oil Company in November 2005 as Contract Administrator for the Feedstock business unit. Her years of experience include various roles from Accounting to Contract Manager. In 2017 she was promoted to Refined Product Scheduler and began scheduling pipeline and truck movements.
Rachel received her BA in Business Administration from Sam Houston State University in 2004.
Ollivier Giampietri joined Tauber Petrochemical Co. in June 2015 as Vice President – Asian Markets. His primary focus is to expand Tauber Petrochemical Co.’s business across Asia.
Prior joining Tauber Petrochemical Co., Ollivier’s experience spans 11 years at a major oil company managing the trading activity of petrochemicals and feedstocks throughout the European, Middle Eastern, and North American regions.
Ollivier holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from The Political Science Institute of Aix-en-Provence (France), and a Masters Degree in International Business from the University of Paris IX Dauphine.
Steve Elliott joined Tauber Petrochemical Co. in 2002 as Vice President, focusing on the trade of Methanol, Styrene, and Benzene.
Prior to joining Tauber, Steve held positions as marine broker, logistics manager, and chemical trading with companies such as QMC, Enron, and Shell Chemical in the methanol, toluene, styrene, and benzene markets.
Steve is a 1990 graduate of Texas A&M University – Galveston, and holds a BS in Maritime Administration.
Bob Mackenzie joined Tauber Petrochemical Co in September 1998 as Vice President in the petrochemical business unit. His primary area of focus is sales in tank truck and tank car.
Prior to joining Tauber Petrochemical Co., Bob held positions with regional and national distributors as well as with a hydrocarbon producer.
Bob is a past board member of both the Houston Chemical Association and the Southwest Chemical Association.
Bob graduated from Bethany College in 1977 with a Bachelor of Arts.
Scott Podsednik joined Tauber Oil Company/Tauber Petrochemical Co. in May of 1990 in the Petrochemical operations group. In March of 1992, he was promoted to Vice President of Petrochemicals where his focus was trading gasoline blend components. In 1995, Scott’s prime responsibility moved to the trading/marketing of all bulk aromatics and gasoline blend stocks, both domestically and internationally, for Tauber Petrochemical Co.
Prior to his tenure at Tauber Oil Company/Tauber Petrochemical Co., Scott worked in the refined products operations and blending areas of The Coastal Corporation and its subsidiary Belcher Oil Company of Miami.
Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Southwest Texas State University, received in 1987, with an emphasis on Marketing and Economics. He currently serves as a member of the AFPM (formerly NPRA), Southwest Chemical Association, and the Northeast Chemical Association.
Will Thompson joined Tauber Petrochemical Co. in December, 2018 as Vice President in the petrochemical business unit. His primary area of focus is sales in tank truck and tank car.
Prior to joining Tauber, Will managed accounts in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area for SolvChem Inc.
Will is a 2012 graduate of Texas State University, and holds a B.A. in Communication Studies. He is also a member of the Houston Chemical Association

Susan Ong joined Tauber Petrochemical Co. in January 2016 as Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of operations in the Asian Market.
Prior to joining Tauber Petrochemical Co., Susan has twenty years’ experience as an Operations Manager for such companies as China Aviation Oil, Noble Resources, & Voest Alpine Intertrading.

Michael Price joined Tauber Oil Company in May 2003 as a member of the Office Services group, and was promoted in 2007 to the Operations group for Tauber Petrochemical Co. Michael is an Operations Manager, handling logistics for methanol and xylene, as well as marine, truck, and rail for alkylate. He also manages inventories for those products at Kinder Morgan in Galena Park, TX, ITC in Deer Park, TX, and IMTT at St. Rose, LA.
Michael is a member of the Southwest Chemical Association.
Sarah Quang joined Tauber Oil Company in September 2004 in the Billing Department, and was transferred to Tauber Petrochemical Co. in 2005 filling an Administrative role until 2010, when she was promoted to Operations Manager and began scheduling truck movements for the petrochemical group.
Sarah received her BA in Communications from Texas State University in 2003.
Steve Starcke joined Tauber Petrochemical Co. in March 1999 as Operations Manager scheduling petrochemical trucks. He has since been promoted to Vice President of Operations with primary responsibility over bulk marine movements and inventory management.
Prior to joining Tauber Petrochemical Co., Steve held positions with QMC, Inc. and TexPar Energy implementing scheduling, blending, and purchasing duties.
Steve received his BBA in Marketing from Lamar University in 1994.
David Niemann joined Tauber Oil Company in May, 2017 as Vice President, focusing on building a US West Coast Light Products trading team.
This business unit will trade gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel in the California and Oregon markets, and will pursue blending and import opportunities into the regions.
Mr. Niemann has 30+ years experience in US West Coast trading markets. Prior to joining Tauber Oil, his professional career included managing successful teams at Vitol, C&N Energy, and SK Energy.
David graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. in Business Administration, and a minor in Mathematics.

Shelly Mohammed joined Tauber Oil Company in April, 2017 as Vice President.
She trades jet fuel and distillates in the US West Coast Light Products group, along with Mr. David Niemann in the California and Oregon markets. Shelly also manages all operations for the business unit.
Her career in the energy industry began in Houston at Vitol, Inc. in 2011. She brings a wealth of knowledge to Tauber.
Ms. Mohammed graduated with honors from the University of Houston with a B.B.A in Supply Chain Management.

Matt Crotts joined Tauber Oil Company in October, 2016 as Vice President – Finance & Corporate Development.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Matt spent 12 years in various M&A, restructuring, investor relations and treasury roles . Matt most recently held positions at Opportune LLP, assisting energy companies and creditors through various restructurings and held the position of Finance Director at Cardtronics, Inc. Over his career, Matt has closed over 50 transactions totaling over $30 billion in consideration.
Matt holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering and a Masters of Business Administration from Texas A&M University.
Derek Halverson joined Tauber Oil Company in October, 2018 as Vice President – Credit.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Derek held the position of Director of Credit and Finance at CenterPoint Energy. His industry experience includes various roles at Energy Transfer Partners, EDF Trading, Atmos Energy Marketing, Chevron, and BP.
Derek holds a BBA in Finance from the University of Texas and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.
Jim Goolsby joined The Tauber Companies in February 2012 as General Counsel. He has over 33 years of experience in the Houston business community, with an emphasis in energy, financial services, real estate, and health care.
In his role as Legal Counsel for The Tauber Companies, Jim is also responsible for legal engagements involving Tauber Oil Company, Tauber Petrochemical Co., Tauber Exploration & Production Co., TransOil Marketing, LLC and Interconn Resources.
Prior to his tenure at the Tauber Companies, Jim held positions with Price Waterhouse, Hines Interests, Jackson Walker, and Sterling Bank.
Jim holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas and a JD from the South Texas College of Law. He is also a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Sassin is a 1976 graduate of Southwest Texas State University (now known as Texas State), with a BBA in Accounting. He obtained his Certified Public Accountant Certificate in 1984. Mr. Sassin has worked for The Tauber Companies since 1979. He is currently the Controller for Tauber Oil Company and Tauber Exploration & Production Co.
Lane Weaver joined Tauber Oil Company in November, 2018 as Controller of The Tauber Companies.
Prior to joining Tauber Oil Company, Lane has worked for various large and medium sized companies holding rolls in accounting, finance, risk, investor relations and FP&A.
Since 2011, Lane has held various rolls at Buckeye Partners, where he served as the Controller for their Merchant Services business segment and Senior Manager,
Investor Relations and FP&A.
Lane holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant.
David E. Kayle joined The Tauber Companies in March 2016 as Vice President of Real Estate Investments. David oversees and directs the company’s capital investments into real estate opportunities.
Prior to joining Tauber, David was Director of Acquisitions for Boxer Property, Director of Real Estate for the HEB Grocery Company, and Vice President of Development for Highridge Partners. He was a board member of the Houston Food Bank, a past Chairman of the Spring Valley Planning and Zoning Commission, and former Texas State Retail Chairman for the International Council of Shopping Centers.
David is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
