Accounting Analyst
Job Title: Accounting Analyst FLSA: Exempt

Reports to: Financial Accounting Manager
POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounting Analyst reports to the Financial Accounting Manager and is primarily responsible for a variety of general accounting related duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enters all general and administrative expense invoices daily into Kwiktag for approval and processes check payments once a week in Solomon. Enters paid invoices into an Access database and reconciles to the general ledger monthly.
- Admin for corporate credit cards (Amegy Visa & AMEX). Approves monthly statements for accuracy and disputes any discrepancies. Processes all employee expense reports monthly for management review and maintains Access database and balance with the general ledger monthly.
- Expenses corporate functions to the general and administrative accounts and provides cost analysis to upper management.
- Reconciles various accounts maintained in an Access database to the general ledger monthly.
- Reconciles daily commodity statements from vendors (Newedge, BNP Paribas, Macquarie Futures) with ETRM system, RightAngle. Coordinates margin calls/excess with Credit department and vendors and prepares payable/receivable invoices for processing.
- Prepares corporate donations reports in Microsoft Excel and updates file. Provides breakdown of expenditures to upper management.
- Provides information and assistance to outside audit firm during fiscal year end. Prepares letters for accounts receivable, legal, commodities, and requests for bank information. Provides any additional assistance needed by auditors.
- Maintains the flight log data for company plane and calculates year-end figure for owner’s personal use of aircraft for W2 reporting.
- Purchases all office/kitchen supplies and schedules maintenance on coffee and water machines when needed.
- Performs ad-hoc analysis and reporting requests to support various business needs and may perform other duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years of general accounting related experience preferred
- Good understanding of GAAP accounting principles
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- ETRM experience in RightAngle is a plus
- Commodity trading and marketing industry experience preferred
- Regular and reliable office attendance.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline is required.
