Accounting Analyst

Tauber Oil is accepting applications for Accounting Analyst. The Accounting Analyst reports to the Financial Accounting Manager and is responsible for a variety of accounting related tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter all general and administrative expense invoices daily into Kwiktag for approval. Process check payments once a week in Solomon. Enter paid invoices into an Access database and reconcile to general ledger monthly.
  • Admin for Corporate credit cards (Amegy Visa & AMEX). Approve monthly statements for accuracy and dispute any discrepancies. Process all employee expense reports monthly for management review. Maintain Access database and balance with general ledger monthly.
  • Purchase all office/kitchen supplies and schedule maintenance on coffee and water machines when needed.
  • Expense Corporate functions to general and administrative accounts. Provide cost analysis to upper management.
  • Reconcile various accounts maintained in an Access database to the general ledger monthly.
  • Reconcile daily commodity statements from vendors (Newedge, BNP Paribas, Macquarie Futures) with RightAngle. Coordinate margin calls/excess with Credit department and vendors. Set up payable/receivable invoices for processing.
  • Prepare corporate donations reports in Microsoft Excel and update file. Provide breakdown of expenditures to upper management.
  • Provide information and assistance to outside audit firm during fiscal year end. Prepare letters for accounts receivable, legal, commodities, and requests for bank information. Provide any additional assistance needed by auditors.
  • Maintain the flight log data for company plane. Calculate year-end figure for owner’s personal use of aircraft for W2 reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting related function preferred.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise initiative is essential.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to communicate formally and informally to a wide variety of audiences from the executive level, managers and employees is critical.
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Petroleum industry background preferred.
