Job Title: Settlements Analyst                                                                                      FLSA: Exempt

Department: Billing & Accounting                                                                Location: Houston, TX

Reports to: Billing & Records Manager

                                                                                                                                                           

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Settlements Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of invoices related to the daily sales and purchases of physical commodities and the associated fees.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparation of sales invoices by analyzing various documents and reports used to create customer sales invoices and by ensuring the timely transmission of the invoice to the customers.
  • Work with customers, transportation teams and commercial teams to resolve sales and purchase invoice discrepancies.
  • Assist Billing Team with historical data clean-up while identifying and implementing standard processes.
  • Processes vendors’ invoices for product and secondary costs – Responsibility extends to noting and resolving any discrepancies through communication with transportation and trading departments and various vendors.
  • Performs ad-hoc analysis and reporting in support of various business opportunities and/or other duties as requested or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and general knowledge of various accounting software systems are required.
  • General working knowledge of invoicing, billing and/or accounts payable are beneficial.
  • RightAngle experience is a plus
  • Energy trading or Petroleum industry experience preferred, but not required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related discipline is desired, but not required.
